Beach Blanket Barry, Graphite pencil on paper, 17" x 14"
Our monitor posed our model Barry in a campy 50's "Beach Blanket" party scene complete with beach ball and antique glass coke bottle with a straw.
I am excited to share these figure drawings. I spent approx. 2 years figure drawing in ink, learning to use Reed Pen for bold lines and transparent washes for tones. Since returning last year to using graphite pencil, I have worked to RETAIN the bold strokes of the reed pen and exploit graphite’s ability to create quick smudged tones.
