Azariah, Oils, 20" x 24"

This simple reclining nude figure in oils was created over three, four-hour sessions during a group painting session at a friend's studio, where I've painted with a group of 4 to 6 painters every Thursday for more than 8 years.

My work covers figurative and landscape in oils. But, I also have created a large body of artwork in sketchbooks over decades that remind me of the magic that lies in icreating artwork. They're comical, satirical, spontaneous, emeshed in fantasy, and filled with direct observation and drawing from imagination. This submitted, Azariah, is from a Thursday night group painting session that I've attented for over 7 years. Painting in 3 sessions of 4 hours each, I was able to get a more desirable finish for this model.
